  1. It's so simple, but I just can't get my head around it. For example, a verb is an "action word", so "Is" and "am" are verbs. To me these are not actions. I mean I get it, but it just doesn't make sense to me. An action in my mind is a movement, an occurrence, a change, etc. Existence is not an action, the words "is" and "am' therefore in my mind are not actions. So when I try to take the definitions of nouns and verbs and apply them, I struggle. This then means adverbs and adjectives have no meaning to me. I think my issue is that I'm towards the Autism end of the spectrum, so definitions need to be really precise to make sense to me. So mathematics makes perfect sense, because there are very clear rules with no potential for misinterprettion, but things like English don't. My problem is I really want to understand English so much better than I do, because it is a language that has an ability to express so much meaning and depth.
